Samvatsarikam
Yearly Recurring Ceremonies
Annual ceremonies performed every year after the first Abdhikam to continue honoring ancestors and maintaining spiritual connection.
What is Samvatsarikam?
Samvatsarikam is a 3-day ancestral ceremony. Day 1 (Un Abdikam) is a preparatory Shraddham performed to mark the completion of the eleventh month and transition into the full year — it sets the spiritual stage and purifies the household. Day 2 (Samvatsaravimoka) signifies the soul's liberation from its temporary state, with offerings and the Ten Great Donations to balance the karmic debt of the departed. Day 3 (Abdikam / Taddinam) is the culminating anniversary ceremony performed with full Vedic rites to honor and nourish the ancestors.
